Biography
Michiya Matsusaki was born in Kagoshima, Japan in 1976. He received his Ph.D. degree in 2003 under direction of Prof. Mitsuru Akashi from Kagoshima University. He started his academic career as a Postdoctoral fellow at Osaka University from 2003 to 2005. During this period, he was a visiting scientist at the Prof. Carl A. K. Borrebaeck laboratory in 2004 at Lund University. In 2006, he joined the Department of Applied Chemistry in the Graduate School of Engineering at Osaka University, Japan as an Assistant Professor. He promoted to Associate Professor in 2015. He is a JST-PRESTO researcher (Concurrent position) from 2008 to 2011 and 2015 to present. His research interests functional polymers and biomaterials for biomedical and tissue engineering applications.
