RESEARCH INTERESTS
 Design and synthesis of novel organic functional π-conjugated molecules based on the strategic incorporation of electronically- and structurally-perturbing heteroatom-embedded π-fragments as the key to their functions
 Investigation of structure–physicochemical properties relationship of the developed functional molecules and application to optoelectronic devices 
 Development of novel synthetic organic reactions utilizing the unique characteristics of heteroatom-containing organic compounds
 Summary of research achievements: 50 original papers, 3 accounts/reviews, 1 patent, 4 book chapters, 17 contribution articles, and 47 invited lectures at the international/domestic seminars, conferences, and symposiums (total citation number: 1741, h index: 22, i 10 index: 33, results obtained with Google Scholar Citation as of December 24, 2019)
