 This page is for all students who want to join Shibata lab. FAQs are shown. If you have any question, please let us know by email (suzuki★epc.osaka-u.ac.jp). A question asked a lot will be listed here.

Q1.How do I have to do for joining Shibata lab? (In case you are senior.)

A. Write down Shibata lab when you are asked.

 Thank you for visiting this page. We are very happy. Lab life is very important for your future. You should brouse this HP carefully which give you some information on our lab life and research.


Q2.How do I have to do joing Shibata lab?(In case you are a candidate for master degree.)

A. Apply for Graduate schlool of Engineering, Osaka University.

 All students who belong to Osaka university or not must take an exam of graduate school of engineering , Osaka university. Shibata lab does not belong to department of chemistry but collaborate with it. Be careful!

Q3.What research is being done in Shibata lab?

A. Organic synthesis and analytical chemistry related to environment.

 The details are shown in Research section. To put it in briefly, we are looking for a novel reaction catalyzed by an abundant material everyday. We are also developing very sensitive analytic methods using GC-MS which are rarely done by other groups.

Q4.What kind of atomosphere does Shibata lab have?

A. A few members are acting cheerfully!

 Many students may not know where Shibata lab is because it is far from the department of engineering. In fact, Shibata lab is located on the center of Suita campus. As you know, we have many facilities to do a research. It is most important that key person is a student in Shibata lab. You can improve yourself if you join our lab.

Q5.How do the members live in Shibata lab?

A. You can take your time in the morning. You can research at night. We have a leargning seminar and drinking party. Enjoy!

 We work from Monday to Saturday. You have good time and circumstance for concentrating on your research on weekdays. You also attend a seminar in the morning every Saturday where a fundamental textbook of organic chemistry is used to fill up your knowledge of your research. You have a jounal seminar and reporting counsel as well. You can enjoy other events such as drinking party or lab trips.

Q6.Is it hard to research in Shibata lab?

A. Research is hard but you have good lab members!

 Many students have no idea what the research it is. The research has no answer and is different from what you have done in school. You have to find what no one has never done. You know this is very tough but attractive if you did it. There are professionals majoring in organic chemistry and members working on cheerfully in our lab. You can complete your good research because you have a good collegue who thinks over your research together.
