Green chemistry is an important key word to solve environmental issues. Our group is developing a new method related to green chemistry by organic synthesis and analitical chemistry. In paricular, (1) developing of environmentally benign coupling reactions or cycloaddition catalyzed by abundant resources such as main group elements, (2) inventing of high-sensitive analysis of chemical materials and separation of drug isomers using a silyl cation as a reagent gas.
Our group is developing a novel reaction using main group metal catalysts which are plentifully taken in the earth from the view point of resource conservation. Actually, heterocycles are prepared by the Sn catalysts we developed. Recently, complicated molecules have been obtained by controlling a high reactivity of small rings.
The more the laws are reformed, the more chemicals used to be legal we are not allowed to make or have. A very fast and precise method is required to analyze them. Our lab is developing a novel mass analysis using a silyl cation as a new ion source. This method makes it possible to analyze a trace amount of the sample and allows us to confront the changes of the social demands.
