Facilities

研究室内

 Our lab has 3 rooms to do a research: Big room, Small room, and Analysis room. We have labwares to handle unstable compounds in the air and spectrometers do identify new materials.



@Big room
Big room(we call Oh-beya)Some members do experiments here. There are many posters to warn you of dangerous materials and scenes.
@Chemi Station

 An apparatus to invesitgate reaction conditions fast and easily on a small scale. You can set 10 test tubes up under room temperature or reflux at the same time.
AAlumi block low temperature apparatus

  Criogenic conditions were set up with dry ices in a organic solvent. This machine is very handy to lower the temperature so fast and easily.
B Flash Column apparatus

 This machine is one of the most frequently used in our lab when prepared compounds were isolated. It also speeds up our publication. However, lazy students are also given who cannot make a hand-made column.
C Evaporator

 Organic solvents are used a lot for reactions or extraction. This machine removes them so fast by distillation under reduced pressure.
D Organic Solvent Purification System

 Our lab has to pay attention to an unstable compound which decomposes if exposed to water or oxygen. This machine allows us to get extremely purified organic solvents. Many students had to purify organic solvents they used at that time every early morning, but nowadays you do not have to.
E Reagent Container with Locking
 
  Organic materials must be stored properly and safely. This container satisfies that.
F Automatic Recycling HPLC
 
 Recently, this machine has been introduced. This machine recycles organic solvents employed for an eluent which usually throws away after passing through the column. This raises the separability and the amount of the solvents are lowered.


A Small Room
Small room(we call Ko-beya) is used by the analysis group. Fine equipments are put here to make a sample for GC-MS.


B Analysis room
Analysis room has many appratus for MS。
@ Separation Machine by GPC
 
 GPC is used for separation depending on how large the molecules have, which is known as very effective separation methods. 。
A GC-MS
 
 Our group has many GC-MS machines. This one is usually employed for tracking a reaction. This machine is very useful to find a new reaction.
B HPLC

 This is used for analysis. It is a little bit old but works well even now. Recently we have finished up digitalizing the data so would be used more frequently than before.
C Chiral HPLC

 The machine itself is newer and can be set up more finely than above one. It works well for separation of chiral compounds which needs many investigations.
D GC-MS Appratus
 
 Analysis members are usually employing. It is a cutting-edge machine which can do GC-MS2 analysis.
E GC-MS Apparatus

 It is more cutting-edge machine. Our collaborator, Midori Anzene, is using.
F Presition Balance

 There are some electronic balances in our lab. This one is the finest to get a subtle amount of the compounds. Very little air flow blurrs the points, so you need good techniques.
G ICP-MS

 This identifies a trace amount ot the elements which are component of the target compounds.
H Deionized Water Generator

 You can have highly purified water by pusing one button. All the water we use here is taken from this.
I Microwave reactor

 The reactor is warmed up by MW. High temp. and pressure is set up so fast.
J IR spectrometer

 Ta plates or KBr film should be used if IR spectrometer works. This machine does not need them so you can take IR so fast.
K Simple Glove Box

 This glove box is in nitogen filled atomosphere made up by distillation followed by nitrogen purging.
